TBC First Aid Leveling Guide 1–375

Updated 29 Apr 2026 Forum discussion

First Aid is one of the easiest secondary professions to level in TBC. It lets every character turn cloth into bandages for quick healing, downtime reduction, emergency recovery, and solo play support.

This guide gives you a practical 1-375 First Aid route with clickable level ranges, rough craft counts, estimated materials, trainer breakpoints, manual notes, and Wowhead-linked bandages for tooltips.

Quick Navigation

Important: material totals are estimates. Yellow and green recipes can take extra crafts, so keep a small cloth buffer instead of buying the exact minimum.

1. Why Level First Aid in TBC?

First Aid is valuable because it gives every character access to mana-free healing through bandages.

First Aid helps with:

  • Solo leveling
  • Questing downtime
  • Dungeons
  • Emergency recovery
  • Classes without self-healing
  • Saving healer mana in awkward moments
  • Turning spare cloth into useful consumables

Useful bandages include:

First Aid is not glamorous, but it is cheap, useful, and available to every character.

2. Estimated Shopping List

This shopping list is based on a practical 1-375 route. Exact totals can vary because skill-ups are not guaranteed near the end of some recipe ranges.

Estimated cloth:

Wowhead’s 1-375 shopping list uses roughly 190 Linen Cloth, 165 Wool Cloth, 150 Silk Cloth, 115 Mageweave Cloth, and 240 Runecloth before the Netherweave section. WoW-Professions lists the 300-375 stretch as 140 Runecloth, 45 Netherweave Cloth, and 40 additional Netherweave Cloth for Heavy Netherweave Bandages. These numbers can vary slightly with skill-up luck.

3. Trainer Breakpoints

You need to train or unlock new First Aid ranks as you level.

  • 1-75: Apprentice First Aid
  • 75-150: Journeyman First Aid
  • 150-225: Expert First Aid
  • 225-300: Artisan First Aid
  • 300-375: Master First Aid

Master First Aid:

  • Master First Aid is learned in Outland.
  • You also need the Netherweave Bandage manuals to finish the 300-375 stretch.

Do not keep crafting while capped. First Aid has several manual and quest-style unlock points, so check your rank before burning cloth.

4. Important Manuals

First Aid relies on manuals at several points. Get them before you hit the skill range where you need them.

Important manuals:

Outland manual notes:

Buy the manuals before you need them. It is annoying to sit on a bag full of cloth and realise you cannot craft the next bandage yet.

10. When to Use Bandages

Bandages are not just for leveling. They are useful whenever you have a safe window to channel healing.

Good times to use bandages:

  • Between pulls while leveling
  • After taking avoidable damage in a dungeon
  • During raid downtime when healers are strained
  • In PvP after forcing distance
  • When you are low and a healer is busy
  • When you want to save mana or potions

Bad times to use bandages:

  • While still taking damage
  • During mechanics that require movement
  • When a healer is already casting a big heal on you
  • When you should be interrupting, moving, or executing a mechanic

Bandages are channeled. If you take damage, the channel can break. Use them when you have a real window, not while standing in danger.

11. How EpicForge Helps

First Aid is not a BiS profession, but it is still part of basic character preparedness.

Use EpicForge to:

  • Check whether your character is properly geared before raid
  • Use Raid Planner to organise your roster before raid night
  • Use Raid Check to catch missing gems, enchants, gear gaps, and preparation issues
  • Review BiS and upgrade recommendations before spending gold on bigger upgrades
  • Track linked alts that can farm cloth or support your main

First Aid helps keep you alive in small windows. EpicForge helps you see whether the rest of the character is actually raid-ready.

Why This Matters

First Aid is one of the cheapest and easiest professions to ignore, but it gives every class access to reliable mana-free healing.

It will not replace healers, food, potions, or proper play, but it can reduce downtime, save you in awkward moments, and give non-healing classes another recovery tool.

Level it early, keep bandages in your bags, and treat it as basic character preparation rather than optional clutter.
